Caden's first snow storm

This week we had snow in Houston Tx. Yes, I know it is crazy! So at 1, Caden got to experience snow. He loved it. Was a little cold, as we don't own a coat for him, but for his 5 minutes outside, he was fine. Here are two of my favorites.

Caden turns 1!

I can not believe that is has been a year, since I met my little miracle for the first time. I remember that first day so vividly. Waking up in the middle of the night in labor, welcoming him after 5 hours, waiting 6 hours before I could hold him due to him being in the NICU. Oh it was a long day, and a long night, as I just held him close to me, once I did finally get my hands on him.

And now, a full year later, we have gone through and learned so much. Being a first time mom, I was so green at so much. But we made it through and we are still standing!

For all of you moms that are still in the middle of those sleepless nights, hang in there. They will end. You are headed for some fun times ahead. Today was a great example of that. We had many moments of laughter this weekend. He is getting so smart and fun to be around. Here is a few photos from his first birthday today.

Enjoy those little ones, they grow up way too fast!

Caden's trip to Iowa

Many of your know that Caden made his first trek to Iowa over the weekend. He met all of the relatives and was really worn out but had a great time. I think his Great Grandma was really excited to see him and really bummed to see him go. Here are some collages of his trip.

A pumpkin patch collage

I just realized I didn't post any photos from the Pumpkin patch.

We went to the patch over by Christi's house after a long day at work. He was exhausted, but was still a great sport. Luckily I had a bag of cheerios in the car. He play for about 30 minutes. We got a lot of good photos. All in all a successful first pumpkin patch shoot. Next year will be 100 times harder I'm sure. I'm anticipating the hat will not fly next year. :)

10 months next week

Hard to believe but Caden will be 10 months next week. Scary. He is not a little blob anymore. He is very much a big boy!

Here are somethings that he can do on his own:
- walk
- blow kisses
- feed himself
- put himself to bed
- and love on his mommy!

I know I might be a little biased but I think he is the best little boy in the whole wide world! Happy 10 months little sweet pea.

And he's off!

Ok, I have no proof, only witnesses. But... My little boy is walking!

Consistently only 2-4 steps. But every once and awhile when he is focused he will take up to 6 or 7 steps. I'm such a sappy mom, I still cry almost every time! I am still not sure where my little blob that I brought home from the hospital went. He seems to go instantly from blob to walking.

I'm hoping to have some pictures soon! Just hard to do by myself. Since daddy is in London and Australia for 3+ weeks. Lucky him.

Anyway, yippee! From now on, I will be chasing...
